Why a consultation before you buy

A six-figure HVAC duct machine purchase is a 10–15 year decision. An hour with the engineer who will actually run your project is the cheapest, fastest due diligence available — you leave with a machine recommendation matched to your coil and throughput, and an indicative landed-cost worksheet for your country. Taokron has offered this to buyers for years, and most who take the consultation move to a decision within 90 days.

Three reasons buyers consistently ask for a consultation rather than relying on PDFs alone:

1. Coil-specific advice. Brochure throughput is measured at ideal conditions. Your specific coil thickness, gauge and supplier may behave differently — we work it through against the machine you are considering, and we can show you output samples by video.
2. Real numbers. Machine price, freight from Port Melbourne, insurance, customs and rigging — the items on the 47-point buyer’s checklist — turned into one indicative landed-cost worksheet for your destination.
3. Engineering relationship. The engineer who runs your consultation will likely also be your project engineer through FAT, shipping and commissioning. Building that relationship before signing accelerates every later decision.

What the engineering consultation covers

About 60 minutes with the Taokron engineer who will manage your project. Structured agenda:

1. Project brief (10 min) — coil specification, throughput target, standards (SMACNA / EN 1505 / AS-NZS 4254 / DW-144), project type, geographical destination.
2. Machine model match (15 min) — specific Taokron model recommendation, footprint planning with CAD layout, electrical and compressed-air requirements, utility specifications.
3. Indicative landed cost (15 min) — machine price, ocean freight from Port Melbourne to your nominated port, marine insurance, a customs entry estimate for you to confirm with your own customs broker, inland trucking and rigging.
4. FAT and commissioning planning (10 min) — FAT booking timeline, commissioning engineer travel and visa coordination, operator and maintenance training scope, spare-parts kit recommendation.
5. Next steps (10 min) — quotation timeline, contract milestones, payment terms, deposit schedule.
